“Light is the universal symbol of wisdom, purity, and the eternal triumph of truth over darkness.”
The Thaamarai World School family warmly joins in celebrating Karthigai Deepam, the auspicious traditional festival of lights dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Murugan. Observed during the Tamil month of Karthigai on the Pournami Tithi when the Karthigai Nakshatram prevails, this sacred day fills our homes and hearts with divine radiance.
Much like the vibrant spirit of Diwali, Karthigai Deepam is characterized by the lighting of traditional clay lamps (Agal Vilakku), symbolizing the awakening of spiritual wisdom and the removal of ignorance. The festival gloriously commemorates Lord Shiva manifesting as an infinite pillar of light (Jyothirlingam), reminding us of the ultimate source of knowledge, peace, and divine energy.
At TWS, we cherish these rich cultural traditions that instill values of gratitude, harmony, and righteousness in our young learners. May the glowing oil lamps illuminate your lives with endless happiness, good health, and success!
Wishing everyone a blessed and joyful Karthigai Deepam!
